About Me

I am a career teacher with teaching experience in grades Kindergarten – Sixth Grade.  I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended schools in the Salt Lake City School District.  My undergraduate degree was awarded by the University of Utah along with a Masters Degree in Curriculum Development and Classroom Management.  I have earned endorsements in English as a Second Language, Gifted and Talented, Reading Level I and Reading Level !!.  I am working on completion of a Math Endorsement.  My great grandmother was a teacher along with both my maternal and paternal grandmothers.  My mother was a teacher in the Salt Lake City School District and taught at Washington Elementary School.  My childhood home was directly across from Liberty Park.  I currently live in Bennion, in the southwest part of the valley.  I have three adult children and two grandchildren.  My two dogs share my home and require a great deal of my attention.  I enjoy reading, walking, traveling and spending time with my sons and husband.  I have had the opportunity to study and travel all over Europe, Asia, Brazil, the Middle East and many major cities in the United States.  Teaching is my passion.  I am truly excited to join the Riley School Community as we work together to prepare all children for success.
